This wheel is developed for heavy cargo bikes.
The CBW5 offers a range of interesting features: First of all it is a ETRTO 50-406. It offers a 50 mm rim that is also suitable for 16” moped bikes. These 16" tires seem better suited for cargo bikes. Several customers are already using these on our current wheels.
Can be ordered with 8,3 mm valve hole.
The CBW5 is also compatible with some 406 bicycle tires. The spokes are strong and more flexible than in CBW2 and CBW3. This makes the wheel more resilient to impact. Like impact from potholes and curbs. For best reliability is suspension and a thick tires with max. 3 bar air-pressure are recommended.
It features an automotive style hub fixation with 4 bolts at a 100 mm pitch circle. This allows you, to use standard parts in cargo bike design. We expect this to become the new standard for heavy cargo bike wheels.
